Mona Lee
Lvl.1 IPTPA & NCCP Certified Pickleball Instructor – as of February 2019
Mona Lee is a certified IPTPA & NCCP Pickleball Instructor and Course Facilitator for Pickleball Coach Education, trained and certified by the Coaching Association of Canada. She is also an IFP World Ambassador since May 2020.
As a coach, she loves introducing Pickleball to new players as well as planning and leading drill sessions. You’ll find Mona promoting the sport, volunteering to teach the youth at local schools, as well as assisting Pickleball Pros at their clinics. As past president of the VPA, she is proud to have worked with the Park Board to open Vancouver’s first dedicated pickleball court at QE Park.
She currently is on the VPA Community Outreach Committee and head of the Court Host program. Her goal is to continue to represent and grow the sport of Pickleball. She has a BBA from Simon Fraser University and loves to bake, swim, bike, ballroom dance and model.
If you would like to learn how to play Pickleball or take her Skills & Drills classes, you will find her at the following Vancouver community centers: Creekside, False Creek, Kerrisdale, Kitsilano, Hillcrest, Marpole & Jewish Community Center.

Richard Lee
Certified Instructor Lvl.2 IPTPA
Richard Lee has always have a love for racket sports. He grew up playing badminton and later on lots of tennis and squash as well. Richard also loves to teach and has led group fitness classes for over 10 years. Since discovering Pickleball in 2015 he knew that it was the sport for him. His passion for Pickleball has led him to play competitively and pursue coaching. He holds an IPTPA Level 2 certification and has been coaching for 3 years. Having an analytical mind and a keen eye for body movement he offers his participants appropriate mechanics and footwork to achieve positive outcomes. As past president of the VPA and an ambassador for the sport Richard continues to advocate the True Sport principal; fairness, excellence, inclusion and fun. He holds a diploma in Mechanical Technology, a Bachelor in Business Administration, and is still a full time realtor with 30 years of experience. Catalin Costea
Certified Instructor Lvl.2 IPTPA
Catalin brings experience and diversity to the pickleball courts during his lessons and clinics. As a certified TPA instructor for over 10 years and now IPTPA instructor since 2017, Catalin has developed a keen eye for finding ways to help improve his students' game. He uses an interactive teaching style, filled with various techniques, hands on experience and a lot of fun.
Catalin is not only a committed pickleball instructor, he is also a dedicated player.
